The office Grüntuch Ernst Architects was founded in 1991 by Armand Grüntuch and Almut Grüntuch-Ernst in Berlin. With more than 40 members in the team the architecture firm covers projects ranging in scale and program from urban planning to the realization of many prizewinning buildings, but also includes special tasks in the area of tension between architecture and art, such as the conception and design of the German contribution to the 10th Architecture Biennale in Venice in 2006.
The basis of our work are the traditional values in architecture, because they are based on the positive experience of the built environment. Innovations are the necessary steps into the future in order to open up new to open up new possibilities for the challenge of changing living and working conditions.
Openness and a holistic method are characteristic for our design approach. The tailor-made solutions combine the traditional values of architecture and innovations for the future. The questioning and reinterpretation of the design assignment, an inquisitive and experimental spirit, and the quest for alternative, functional, formal, technical, artistic and cultural prospects lead to innovative and individual solutions.
