DGUV Berlin

The sculptural, meandering character of the natural stone façade with its sloping reveals in alternating directions is a defining feature of the seven-storey headquarters of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) near Unter den Linden. When selecting all the materials, emphasis was placed on high durability and quality and DGNB platinum status was achieved for sustainable and economically efficient construction. The inclusion of people with disabilities is a major concern of the accident insurance companies, which is why increased accessibility requirements were implemented. The heart of the building is a divisible conference room measuring approx. 430 square meters on the fully covered first floor. A skylight to the inner courtyard above provides the high-quality designed hall with daylight. With spacious foyer areas on the ground floor, additional meeting rooms and a catering area, all the requirements of a first-class conference center are met.
