Porsche Design Tower Frankfurt

The design for the Porsche Design Tower Frankfurt emerged as the winner among the competition’s 20 entries. For Frankfurt’s new Europa Quarter, an iconic residential high-rise was sought, one that would serve as architectural reflection of the purist and functional image of the Porsche Design brand. Rising from a glass atrium level is an elegant sculptural structure with dark parapet bands that encompass the building and bring together its various typologies and usages, including apartments, townhouses and parking. The verticality of the residential tower is reinforced by the building’s tapered form, the gradual narrowing of the parapets and the contrast with the bright ceilings visible between them. Plantings along the parapets form a conscious architectural element that adds a vital green layer to the purist façade.
