Monbijouplatz 3 Berlin

For the residential and office building at Berlin’s Monbijouplatz, the principle of the suburban row house was transferred to a multi-storey apartment building in the centre of the city. In front of the apartments that extend along the building’s entire north-south axis are wide, in part two-story loggias that mark the threshold between private space and the surrounding city. In these loggias, slat elements form an additional filter for a protected outside area. From the upper levels of the maisonette apartments, small balconies protrude into the two-storey loggias. From here you can look out onto the loggia below and onto a garden in front of the building.
