Our office building on Revaler Straße in Berlin was awarded “Best of Best” in the “Concept – Visionary and Uncompleted Architecture” category.
The Jury’s Statement: As a transformation project, the Hainwerk sets the highest standards of sustainability with its ecological hybrid timber construction, climate-neutral energy concept, maximum urban greening, and future-oriented circularity principle (C2C). The seven-storey mixed-use complex combines office, commercial, and residential spaces, with the micro-apartments and office floors in particular designed to be highly flexible. Also noteworthy is the building’s self-sufficient energy supply, achieved through a combination of geothermal energy, photovoltaics, and air-source heat pumps. The development is being built to the highly efficient Effizienzhaus 40 standard and is also aiming for DGNB Platinum pre-certification and LEED Platinum. A well-thought-out vision and an important urban building block for Berlin—its completion is eagerly awaited.
